Neko Case's Middle Cyclone

This album is phenomenal. Probably better than Fox Confessor Brings The Flood, which was already pretty great. Her voice is just so overpowering, it's like three lead guitars unto itself. The band is tight and the record has a huge, wide, orchestral hall sound to it. The whole album kinda sounds like something that would be the soundtrack to a scene where a girl gets dumped by her boyfriend, and then drives across the country to pursue her dream career as a solo singer. I'm not sure this has ever actually happened in a movie, which is fortunate, because it sounds like an utterly terrible premise. But Middle Cyclone is really great. One of my favorite songs is "People Got a Lot of Nerve," which is apparently in Rock Band, which is lol.
